Mega Charizard is a temporary form of Charizard which is obtained by the use of Mega Stones in battle. It increases the statistics of Charizard, increasing its power in attacking and its skills. They exist in two different versions: Mega Charizard X and Y which have various typings and strengths. Mega Charizard X is changed to Fire/Dragon-type, and Mega Charizard Y is changed to Fire/ Flying, although with a higher special attack. These transformations render Charizard more competitive and attractive to the eye, providing him with a strategic edge in combats.
